Stand up, oh volunteers! Citizenship and self-learning at the “Planisfério da Interculturalidade” (Almada)

In this paper we want to discuss the role and potential of civic participation in public or community art projects, basing ourselves on our own experience as volunteers in the “Planisfério da Interculturalidade” (Almada, Portugal). From here we address the idea of a public art that lives on affection and empowerment and ambitions the active exercise of citizenship and the creation of places of encounter and sharing.
